Father Cabasagan was ordained into the priesthood on October 26, 2007 at the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament in Sacramento, CA. Inspired by the challenge of Pope John Paul II to young Filipino Catholics, he left a career with the Timex Corporation where he had worked for 18 years and entered St. Patrick's Seminary and University where he earned a Master's Degree in Divinity, adding to his educational portfolio of a Master's Degree in Management from San Jose State University, and a Bachelor's Degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering from Cebu University in the Phillipines. His previous assignments include the role of parochial vicar at St. Joseph's Parish in Sacramento, St. John the Baptist Church in Folsom, and as pastor at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Colusa. "To be ordained a priest in an awesome responsibility, it is a God-given divine gift to make present the great mystery of redemption and salvation and a great responsibility to be part of the sanctification of the living community. As priests we mirror the mind and heart of Christ, which requires a serious life and prayer."
